Today, I want to introduce you to a new coach at Data Driven Athlete, Jacob Velasco.
I started working with Jacob a little over a year ago and knew we’d hit it off when I spotted posters on his wall paying homage to iconic alternative rock bands of my youth.
Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Radiohead, where did this kid come from?
I’d already written off Gen Z for being lazy and addicted to their phones, then here came Jacob with his appreciation of the 90s, reading actual books, and displaying an appetite for hard work as hearty as any cyclist I’ve coached over the past 15 years.
I don’t know about the rest of Gen Z, but Jacob is detail-oriented, responsible, hard-working, and deeply invested in the success of others; these qualities will make him an outstanding coach for you to work with at Data Driven Athlete!
